Covid-19 Protocols
To lessen the risk of contracting Covid-19 as much as possible, we need to be vigilant in adhering to the following protocols:
- The Jack. Skips will set the jack with their foot. There will be on jack allotted to each rink. That means someone needs to roll the jack to the other end of the rink after each end. Designate one lead to roll the jack.
- The Mat. Both leads must touch the mat to set it. That means each lead must touch a different part of the mat. Prior to the game, determine which lead handles the mat by the front and which one handles it by the rear.
- The Rakes. Rakes are typically shared by 2 rinks, 4 teams, and 4 leads. It is up to the each of the leads whether or not they would like to use a rake. If they do, they must agree on a contamination-free process to share the rakes. Cleaning supplies are available and encouraged. Alternatively, kick the bowls back to start a new end.
- The Score. Each skip will keep score of the match and turn it in (lay it on a designated table) at the end of the match. The competition staff will take the scorecards (with latex gloves) and tally the scores. The competition staff will then deliver the scorecard to each team before the 2nd match.
- The Mask. Must be worn at all times except during delivery (if it bothers you). Once your bowl is delivered, immediately re-mask.
- The Intermission. In between the 1st and 2nd rounds, the scores must be tallied to determine what the matchups will be for the 2nd round. During this time, you can eat, drink, and talk, but you must observe 6 feet social distancing and wear your mask. This means stay away from one another! If we see you too close, we'll say something.
- The Restroom. One at a time please. Wash your hands.
- The Clubhouse. The only place you can visit in the clubhouse is the restroom. No kitchen, no office, no open inside area. Stay outside. Hand sanitizer will be placed at conspicuous locations for everyone's use.
